Hey all,

I occasionally browse on other forums like this, and surprisingly alot have chat boxes...

If you dont know what a chat box is, it is basically instant messaging.

I mean...

Are you tired of posting a thread... Then waiting hours-to-days-to-weeks even to get a response?
Are you tired of sending a private message... And again waiting for a response?

Instead, another user, like a person new to Macs could chat to someone who is familiar with Macs...

For example (made these up - hope there not real): Here are two users, we have:

New-To-Mac and Macs-Since-Birth...

New-To-Mac has just bought a new MacBook Pro and has NO idea how to use it... So he/she could ask Macs-Since-Birth a few questions and get an instant answer, sort of like Apple OneOnOne... But you might have other questions...

What do you say... I have posted a poll below/above/left/right... somewhere...

All comments appreciated even if you think this is a terrible idea...

I don't think it's worth the effort. There are just too few people on the forums to make that a sensible addition.

I'm with Ben on this one. There's not enough people active on here at similar times to warrant it. Most of the people who post on here are from a core group and a lot of people come ask a question and then go. I don't think there's enough traffic or regulars on at the same time to make it worth while.

Sorry, no plans on adding a chat box. It defeats the purpose of having a forum...which is to preserve conversations so others can, over time, add to or read from for the benefit of the community.
