Have a jail-broken iPhone 3G using 3.0 from the UK. Had been using a Telstra sim card in the phone & MMS kinda worked. Have just changed to a Vodafone sim & now can't seem to use MMS at all.

The Vodafone iPhone website states you must send yourself an MMS message to activate it, but none of mine will go through. Went to have a look at the Cellular Data Network settings to make sure they were correct, but they are no longer present in the Network settings.............

Anyone know what's going on & how I might be able to resolve this?

Thanks,
Steve

If you are on 3.0 as you say, why not trying to upgrade to 3.0.1? Otherwise, give Vodaphone a call and see if they can do anything for you.

Well my guess would be that it has something to do with the fact that your iPhone is jailbroken... My friend has a non jailbroken iPhone on the same network, running 3.0 (hasnt upgraded yet because of the battery issues) and he has had no problem

But... To be as helpful as I can... Try upgrading to 3.0.1 or call Vodafone or switch to Optus (Im on Optus - No problems, bit pricey on the calling side tho [80c a minute!!]) or 3 (Im presuming your in Australia??)

Jailbreaking 3.0.1 is easy. Instructions here:

iPhone 3.0.1: Jailbreak and Unlock

Sorry, no other ideas for MMS.

Sorry, meant to say I'd re-jailbroken (but lost the apps etc from the 3.0.1 update) but still no MMS.

Cheers for the suggestions anyway mate.
