Hey all, for those of you who have done what I've done and hasn't given Vista enough hard drive space, but you dont want to start all over again, follow this:

I (as you all know) have reinstalled Vista about 7 times. And on the last time I allocated 32gb. I was planning on installing Windows Vista Home Premium, the Sims 3 (yay!!) and Test Drive.
As it turns out, my calculations were correct, and I had a total of 1gb of hard drive space remaining.

But this was causing problems, and I had to reinstall another program on Vista, but I didn't have enough room. So you can either:

-Format and start again, with a bigger Partition. But this would mean losing all your files or spend hours backing them up.

Or, do what I did,

-First uninstall every program that your not going to need. You can also delete Vista programs, like Media Center, which you might not use.
After this, you should get at least a gig or 2 back, depending on what you delete.

-Then, do a disk cleanup to make sure you get rid of installation files and other "junk" on your computer.
You should get anywhere between 4mb to 1gb back. (Every drop counts!!)

-Then, do a Disk Defragment, it helps fill in the gaps in the hard drive space.
Please Note: A disk defragment takes HOURS so dont hold your breath.
You should get - Well it really depends how much back, sometimes it doesn't do anything but one time it gave me 10gb back.

Finally, go to Disk properties, and tick "Compress Disk". It basically (I think) pushes everything together so there are no gaps, like Winrar or something.

I started off with 0.978gb free. And now I have 8.34gb free.

Hope this helped, sorry for the long post and ENJOY!!

No and No...

I didn't lose 1 file, and the only hours you spend is waiting for Disk Defragmenter to finish and the Compressor to Compress.
