If your software is going to be open source, or is just a hobbyist project, you can look at other free hosting options, such as sourceforge.org, or Google Code. They are also running SVN, with both the SVN protocol and web access to the repository.

I just saw Versions today on TUAW. Looks like a very slick solution to a fairly complex problem.

wellllllll after playing around with Version tonight for an hour or so.... i FINALLLY understand how it all works and that, haha. even using it through terminal..... now to tackle it in TextMate...
