I have shot a video (SD) with my Panasonic camera which makes .MOD files, which is a kind of .mpeg. I could import them in iMovie directly only after an iMovie update released a week ago or two. I made some of the clips be only sound and added them as voiceovers to some other clips. But when I export them, the voiceover is somehow delayed, and some clips that come between voice-overed ones have sound delay, too. One more thing: iMovie converts them (to .mov?) only on request, because it can do any kind of edit to them while they're .MODs except for speed change, which I used only on a few of the clips. Any idea on what should I do? I need to complete it by Saturday (the 31st). Please help me!

Try converting to a more standard format before importing into iMovie, such as a regular mp4 or a dv file.

I would have to remake the whole movie if I want to do this... wouldn't it be enough if I use the convert button in iMovie? I tried that way, but I ran out of disk space, lol... Also, if I remake it from scratch, what (free) app would you recommend for conversion? I had no luck finding one before the update which let me import .MOD directly. MPEG Streamclip was I think the only app who "agreed" to convert .MOD, but it mashed the clips into a single one, making it hard to edit, messed up the order in which they were shot, and already caused some sound delay issues.

Try Video Monkey. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. News

Alright, thank you! I freed up some disk space and converted everything using iMovie's built in converter. If this export fails, too, then I'm remaking the project from scratch and converting it using Video Monkey first. Thanks again for the advice.

It's never good to run with low free disk space anyway. The computer needs that space to store critical swap files. Without it, your machine could slow to a crawl or even be unable to run at all.

This happened to me a few weeks ago! Just after I had installed snow leopard, I had accidentally stuffed up an erase free space thingy and it rang out of space.

My computer rufused to turn on... But after about 10000000 tries, I got it to boot up... And then I found the file causing the trouble, deleted it, and it's all better
