I use MSWord 2008 for Mac version 12.2.1, and my MaC IS OS X 10.6.
I am working on a document with another Mac user. The document comes(via attachment) in .docx format, which opens fine. I work in MS Word on the document, and another new document, together. After about 5 minutes the imported document freezes, and so does MS Word, and no MS Word doc can move.I see the spinning wheel. When I force quit, and return, I retrieve the frozen document, and everything I have saved is there. Anything not saved has gone. I work it again fine, for about 5 minutes. Then the same thing happens again. ASt some point I turned up Error 1712. It appears MS Word is timing out. How do I fix this? This only occurs with the imported document. I have tried saving it in .doc, and .rtf, but that doesn't work Help! Roger |

That's a standard OS X timeout error. Try reinstalling Word and maybe even doing an archive and install.
