Hello all,

I have an old iMac PowerPC G5 (second generation) which I want to pass on to my 8 years old son. I want to know where I can find Mac games that would be able to run on this iMac. Currently, the games in the market are mostly for Intel-based Macs.

Please help me on this. Thanks ya'all!

What type of games are you looking for? I'm sure I could recommend a specific one.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am looking for car racing games, star wars games, and children's games. I hope this is not too much for you to recommend.

Thanks again!

No problem at all! Here's some suggestions:

Star Wars Battlefront

Feral Family Funpack (Includes Ford Racing, Bionicle, Lego Star Wars II, and Chessmaster 9000)

I'd highly recommend the family pack of games. It includes a bunch of games he'd like, and is by far the best value out there. Hope this has helped!

Well we are on this topic... How many games are there for Mac??

I have a MacBook Aluminium, and I love playing games on it... I use Windows XP (MCE 2005) to play Test Drive Unlimited, The Sims 3 and various other games of the same genre...

I know the Sims 3 is released on Mac (I bought the wrong one), but what about TDU or some racing games... I can only seem to find like games for 3 year olds at the stores I go to (EB Games and various)

You are going to the wrong store. You need to go to Amazon or an Apple store. Gaming stores don't sell Mac games.

Some popular Mac games of various genres:

-Need for Speed Carbon
-Call of Duty 4
-Sims 3
-Battlefield 2142
-Madden 2008
-Quake
-World of Warcraft
-Star Wars Battlefront (1&2)
-Harry Potter

The list goes on. More and more PC games are landing on the Mac thanks to Cider these days.

I've noticed a greater variety of Mac games showing up at Best Buy, MicroCenter and even some times at Target. Typically, these are games that are packaged with Mac and PC versions together, but it's progress! I still tend to prefer ordering online to get a better price.

Since I'm not much of an action gamer, I love the puzzle games from Pop Cap Games (Bejeweled, Bookworm, Peggle, etc.).
