I know there is a way to share your iTunes music library with user accounts by changing the music folder location to a publicly shared folder....
But heres the thing...it seems to have a lot of glitches. Like duplicating the same music file. Then I try to delete, sends it to the trash. But I can still play the same exact file in iTunes from the trash. I click get info. It says its in the trash and I can still play it! So, im in finder fumbling through all the folders trying to move music somewhere else. Its all so confusing and making me angry. Then when I'm in a different user account from where I didnt purchase the song and I want to rename the song in iTunes, but it wont let me. Its so f*cked up. I did exactly what apple wants you to do when sharing music between user accounts, but as far as I can see, I'd have less trouble just buying the same song twice for the 2 users. I could also buy another mac so the other person could have there mac and use home sharing (which is easier). I'm not hating, I just dont like this one little disadvantage which is actually a big problem. I spend hours on end trying to get this to work. If you read and understood all my complaining hopefully you can help me fix this or explain an easier way to share music. Big question: Does anyone have this same problem? Oh, and I just downloaded iTunes 9. The problems were happening when I had iTines 8 Thank you in advance Last edited by EAH2119; 09-10-2009 at 05:42 PM.. |

Your iTunes Library is located in Macintosh HD/Users/EAH2119/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music...
Its all in that folder, copy that and paste it in the other users account... Better yet, from the other user, create an Alias to that folder, therefore if you change something, it affects that one as well... If that didnt make sense, PM me or something...
