Now, I know I shouldn't be messing around with Windows but if Apple has created Boot Camp it means that some people, like me, are gonna use the software. Thing is, after installing the Windows 7 Beta, my MacBook Pro just doesn't have sound. I downloaded the driver from Realtek but cannot install it. It's so frustrating, somebody help me!
Thanks Romain (in Aguascalientes, Mexico) |

I'm assuming you still have sound in OS X. That being said, Google is your friend. You can find a solution on this blog. I can't vouch for whether it works, but I'd assume it will fix your issue.

Why did you get Windows 7? What was wrong with XP/Vista.
Apple made Boot Camp, but not for Windows 7. I tried this, failed miserably and I nearly corrupted my entire hard drive. Mac side and everything! You should be able to get Realtek to install, I got mine working!

It's one thing to install Windows 7 when it's released, but I'd also recommend against using it now. It's a beta. If you are doing serious work in Windows apps, you shouldn't be running a beta OS. If it's just for fun, I'd still caution against it, but it's not the worst thing as long as you have a complete backup of your OS X partition.

I would like to know if Windows Home Server is supported by Boot Camp. If it is, installing it on a Mac Mini would make a nice TM target on steroids. I would finally be able to use ALL of my external HDDs (even the old little ones) and it would talk to my X-Box 360.
Technology makes my heart swell with gladness.
