Right, I now hate Apple for that!

They give the new 13" MacBook Pro a 2.26GHz Processor, a Firewire Port, an SD card slot and worst of all a 7 hour battery, up from the current 4.5hr battery!

All this is $200 less than what the MacBook Aluminum was!

Haha, that's nothing to hate Apple for! They always have and always will update the model you have somewhere down the line. The key is to love the machine you have and ignore the new ones, at least till you're in the market for one.

I voted iPhone OS 3.0 but that's probably because I am playing with it right now (so cool!). It's a tie really with Snow Leopard.

Sounds like fun! I really can't wait for its release (OS 3.0). Now I am just trying to decide on the 3G S (and selling my 16GB 3G) to make up for the mid-contract penalty I will pay for switching. If I could get most of the $200 penalty out of my 3G, I guess it sort of comes out even. And since the 8GB iPhone is now $99, and Apple usually adds $100 to double the memory, I may do OK on its sale.

I can tell you right now that I dont love the machine I have now! I've had nothing but trouble with this computer and I damn well wish that I never bought the stupid thing. $2000 just down the drain. My sisters $1300 Compaq is more reliable than this, and its running Vista!

I'd love to have the new 13" MBP. I've been hoping to buy a laptop for travel so I can work on vacation photos on the trip instead of carrying a bunch of memory cards. (Yes, I know. The memory cards are lighter and cheaper than the MBP, but just remember my name: GadgetComa. )

I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a bad experience! You should really take it back and see what they can do about fixing it!

Sounds like a good purchase reason to me. That's the kind of stuff I love to do on my 15" MBP. I didn't need to get it, but I sure am glad I have it. Life is too short to always be "practical"
