What did everyone think of Apple's announcements/upgrades/products? I see one thread on this subject, but I thought I would throw in a little Poll.

I think I am most excited about the hardware upgrades combined with lower prices for the MB Pro line. This is going to take a little wind out of Microsoft's "Apples are expensive" sails. And it will certainly move more Macs, which ultimately attracts more developers. A "win - win"

Sorry. After posting, I realized this thread really should have been in the "Apple Chat" section, since it is more than just hardware that it relates to. Feel free to move it accordingly, thanks

I'm really pleased with the 13" MBP. The base one looks very tempted, just wish I could get one. One can only dream at the moment.

Moved!

I'm really most excited about Snow Leopard as that's the only one on this list I'll be buying.

However, I'm really pleased about the updates to the MacBook Pro line. The 13" is definitely my next machine, although I can't really see me buying one for at least 2 years. My goal is to use my current machine until it doesn't satisfy my needs anymore!

I am so excited about the 3GS and cannot wait to get mine, but Snow Leopard is even more exciting and will effect my life more when it comes this fall.

I was very excited about everything but the new laptops. They were nice, but I'm not buying a new Mac anytime soon. I will be buying a 3GS and installing 3.0 on my touch, as well as buying Snow Leopard (who wouldn't at $29).

Yeah, the $29 price for Snow Leopard really surprised me. I can't see why anyone wouldn't get it. I expected somewhere in the area of $59 to $79 for the upgrade price. My only disappointments are that they didn't expand the LED Display line to a 28 or 30" offering, and my old "dead horse" of still no Blu-ray option at all. Apple is really alone now in its lack of Blu-ray support. I truly thought this would be the venue they would finally support it. Ironic that I own four Pixar films on Blu-ray now and can't watch them on a Mac (with built-in support - I know I could go 3rd party).

I'm confused... Is the new 13-inch MacBook Pro just the same as the normal Aluminum MacBook.

Because I noticed that they kept the MacBook White as the MacBook, but they dont have the Aluminum MacBook there anymore...?

They've rebranded the Alu MacBook as a MacBook Pro and given it features from the Pro line (FireWire, SD Card slot etc). There's only one MacBook now and that's the white one which they gave a small spec bump to a couple of weeks ago.

The only other (very) significant difference in the 13 inch Mac Book Pro is that only the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card is available. Were the 15 and 17 inch both have the 9600M GT with 256MB or 512MB available in addition to the 9400M graphics. The entry level 15 inch only has the 9400M card also. I just wish it were an option on the 13 inch also. If so, I would have one this week.
