If you lost it in your house, then keep looking.
If, however you lost it at your college, then it can be recovered through bluetooth (AKA your within 10 feet of the MacBook at the time and it has bluetooth turned on and the computer is on) Otherwise I dont think it can be recovered through IP addresses. If you have a program called Undercover, then call the undercover hotline and the can find it... Otherwise, your all on your own. Good luck, hope you find it. PS: Report it stolen if you dont find it within 7 days of loosing it.

If you use Undercover, you might be in luck. Otherwise, you really have no way of recovering it other than maybe sending emails to the address you use on that computer with your info and hope that the person who found it sees the email and returns the laptop to you. As Jeremy said, report it stolen to the police as soon as possible as well.

This is a good reminder to be sure we are using some of the security features of our Macs too. Simple things like a password required from sleep and more importantly FileVault. If you use a strong password with FileVault, it would be very unlikely for most people to get into your files. You need only to make it hard to get at your files, because most computer theft is with the intent of simply cleaning it up and reselling it. Don't make it easy for a thief to see if there are any "identity theft items" worth keeping before they sell it. Chances are, your computer isn't being stolen by the guy who hacks into Department of Defense networks in his spare time. I am in the airport constantly, and am amazed by how many people sit down beside me, flip open the screen to their laptop, and it opens right up to where they left off. No passwords or security at all.
That said, I do wish you good luck with recovering your laptop.
