Being a geek at heart, I'm a fan of Geektool, which lets you put text from any text file or script on the desktop (in a variety of colors and fonts, natch).

So, on my desktop I have my current network information (from the wonderful ipinfo script), my top running apps (from the "top" bash command), my uptime, and a nice ASCII formatted calendar for the current month.
All this against the wallpaper of my fiance and I in Hawaii.

Can't upload a pic, since I'm at work, but maybe later if I remember.

My SO uses Geektool, and loves it. It makes the desktop too busy for me.
What kinds of problems is Unsanity causing for you? I've never had any problems.

I've never had issues either, but it's something that Apple will remove/disable right away if you are having software issues.

I use ClearDock myself, had no problems. Seems to copy TransparentDock though...

I have organized clutter on my Desktop- but the 20 inch monitor never seems to get junked up. I have this strange sense of forgetfulness. If I cant see it- I forget what I am working on

Actually I have used, and completely forgot about it, until someone mentioned transparentdock...Mac Pilot - Enable Hidden Features and Optimize Your System, it does cost some money. (I actually won it in a contest) But you should check out its features...

lots of stuff it can do for you...

too many to list it is...

Sorry, I was watching some Star Wars: The Clone Wars today...

Yoda sticks in my head for a while he does.

Speaking of Star Wars- the 20 inch leads to the Dark Side- but I so did enjoy the ride (Little sleep- it calls my name) Maybe I should name my Mac = Vader

I'm actually more customised than I remembered, I guess I am just too used to it now. Nothing major but some nice small tweaks. I'll compose a list with screenshots later if anyone is interested.

I definitely want to see your customizations! I'm pretty stock when it comes to my computers, so I want to see how "the other side" lives!
